A science center should be cutting edge, and the Gulf Coast Exploreum wanted our Augmented Reality technology in their “My Bodyworks” Gallery of health exhibits. Perfect Prototype delivered a complete turnkey exhibit solution, from the design and copy writing, to the 3D modeling and animation, programming and installation.

These 2 kiosks feature 1080i high definition cameras, 1920×1080 3D output on a main and slave monitors at 60 fps, and of course a life-size beating heart in your hands.

The exhibit shows off the external and internal features of the beating heart, from the aorta and valves to the animated electrical nodes and valves, and tells you more about what you’re seeing with titles and labels. Flip the cards over and the labels disappear so you can just explore the model and animation. The last section is a 2 minute animated presentation that shows the blood flow and walks you through the 4 stages of a heartbeat. We slow the pace down to 1/12th speed and point out what is happening at each step along the way.
